Further Information

As with our two previous projects Ballet Hoo! and Wrosne - An Underground Experience, Chasing Fate worked with vulnerable young people taking them on an extraordinary journey of personal development.

This project worked in partnership with four local authorities and with Connexions teams across all four authorities which enabled us to target young people deemed ‘at risk' of not fulfilling their potential.

Our aim was to instil a sense of worth and achievement into the lives of extraordinary young people through a combination of personal development and artistic endeavour. Not only did this project show these young people what can be accomplished with hard work, perseverance and guidance it encouraged the practice of responsibility, community and discipline within a group environment to reach a common goal.

By worked in partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome we were brought back to our Ballet Hoo! roots and gaven a clear challenge; one of the largest stages in the country to build a new musical. As a result a team of new collaborators with extensive experience in both West End musicals and popular TV drama brought an entirely fresh piece of the street to the stage. Building on the real life experiences of its young cast this high calibre artistic team helped produce a new gritty, funny and fantastical piece of musical theatre, Chasing Fate.

The massive journey these young people have made has seen an incredible transformation - they have been inspired to change which has been a privilege to watch for all involved.
