A vital ingredient in the successful model used by Leaps & Bounds is the involvement of our volunteer Life Coaches.
Life Coaches offer support to the young people involved in our projects, coaching and mentoring them through the challenges of changing their own lives. It's both challenging and enormously rewarding work. All volunteers with Leaps & Bounds get an extensive training programme to set them up for the challenge and support them throughout.
We are currently accepting applications from people interested in volunteering with us on future projects and will contact applicants with details of our next Volunteer Recruitment Day.
What roles are available?
As a Volunteer Life Coach you would support one or more teenagers in achieving their self-determined life goals. This would be done by weekly contact with your young person/s for the duration of the project. As a Logistics Volunteer you help us get the venue set up and ready and are vital to the smooth running of the trainings and rehearsals. As an Office Volunteer you may assist with administration and registration.
Initial Induction
An opportunity to meet the team and some of the young people to tell you more out about our way of working. We introduce you to the policies and procedures that underpin our work.
Child Protection Training
We train you initially to the certificated Level One standard with the opportunity to train at Level Two.
Youth at Risk training
Our partners ‘Youth at Risk' work with us to provide an intensive full two day workshop around the coaching methodology that will be our way of working on our programmes.
On-going support
On an on-going basis there is a mandatory one evening a month Life Coach training meeting. You also get access to on-going coaching from our Life Coach Manager and Local co-ordinators.
